How The Bridge Started
At The Bridge, we are committed to fostering a community of like-minded individuals who value the intersection of faith and profession. Our goal is not only to equip young professionals with the tools they need for success in their careers but also to empower them to make a positive impact for Christ in the world.

Founded by Bob and Alissa Harrison
Founded by Bob and Alissa, both alumni of Kansas State University and dedicated followers of Christ, The Bridge is more than just a ministry; it's a community. After years of serving in campus ministry and further training at Dallas Theological Seminary, Bob and Alissa launched The Bridge in 2023 to address the unique challenges that recent graduates face as they move from campus to the complexities of adult life in the working world.
With a growing family of five children and active membership in Lenexa Baptist Church, Bob and Alissa's lives reflect the values and mission The Bridge seeks to instill in young professionals.
Bob Harrison
Bob grew up in Gardner, Kansas, a small town just outside of Kansas City. He spent his time with school, sports, and friends before attending Kansas State University. He graduated with a degree in civil engineering and a masters degree in structural engineering. Most importantly, he met Jesus there, trusting Christ as Lord and Savior after his senior year.
Alissa Harrison
Alissa grew up in Shawnee, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City. The second of four sisters, she grew up involved in gymnastics, competitive cheer, and dance team. She attended Kansas State University, studying to earn a degree in elementary education and a masters in curriculum and instruction. Early in her freshman year, she trusted in Jesus as Lord and Savior. After graduation, she taught third grade in Junction City, Kansas for two years.
The story of The Bridge
Bob and Alissa met through The Navigators campus ministry and began dating her first year of teaching third grade. In 2009, they married and joined Student Mobilization at Kansas State University where they focused on personal ministry among college students for ten years.
In 2017, Bob enrolled at Dallas Theological Seminary. A class project in Education Ministry Leadership 101 turned into a pilot program with college graduates. Initial success led them to relocate in August 2020 to pioneer this ministry full-time in Kansas City.

In 2023, Bob earned a Master of Theology (ThM) degree with a leadership emphasis from DTS. That year, The Bridge launched as its own organization. Bob leads as Executive Director, while Alissa homeschools and serves recent grads. They, along with their five children, are active in Lenexa Baptist Church and enjoy opening their home to young adults and being outdoors.
